Where to Eat, Stay and Explore in Bornholm, Denmark

Make the most of your stay at a hotel with plenty of hygge, a Michelin-starred restaurant and a kayak tour around the island.

Stay

Stammershalle Badehotel

Stammershalle Badehotel

Built in 1911 as a summer resort, the mansion-like Stammershalle Badehotel offers 16 sunny rooms with plenty of hygge – earth tones, sheepskins, warm wood accents. Cross the road to the rocky shore where you’ll find a ladder to the sea.

What we loved Tucking into butter-meltingly fresh rye bread served with the best sunrise on the island.

Green Solution House

Green Solution House

Green Solution House is a sustainability poster child. Overhauled reusing and repurposing existing building materials, the hotel and conference centre conforms with the strictest EU environmental standards. Wake up early and stroll the sparkling, sun-splashed courtyard paths.

What we loved Discovering that the skylights and balcony railings are fitted with solar cells, so every space works double duty for nature.

Kadeau

Bornholm’s only Michelin-starred restaurant, cozy Kadeau looks like a seaside shack but has a tasting menu with everything from fermented flower with honey, preserved berries and nas-turtium, to open-fire-grilled pork from forest-ranging pigs.
