Family Feast

Some of Montreal’s top chefs dropped by for dinner and brought their favourite family recipes.

Every family has its prized heirloom recipes, handed down from generation to generation. But the food is better at some dinner tables than at others, so we invited a few of the hottest chefs in Montreal to our potluck and asked them to bring both their family recipes and their families.

Watch as Martin Picard, chef and owner of Au Pied de Cochon, prepares his decadent snow crab and as Elena Faita, mother of renowned cookbook author Stefano Faita, makes her famous lasagna. Then there’s Marilu Gunji, pastry chef at Brontë, painstakingly shaping her traditional Japanese ichigo daifuku. These were some very tasty traditions indeed.
