Hôtel Paris Bastille Boutet
This five-star hotel was formerly the home of Maison Boutet, which supplied wood to the workshops of Faubourg Saint-Antoine in the 1920s. Behind the building’s mosaic facade and art deco marquee, the lobby’s rich wood accents and exposed steel and concrete pay homage to the know-how of the artisans it used to outfit.
What we loved Escaping the frenzy of Paris with a dip in the blue-and-white-tiled pool.
If you only have one night At the lobby bar, order a creamy hot chocolate and toast the hotel’s history – it was also a chocolate factory at one point.
Bonus Award-winning chef Cyril Lignac’s restaurant Le Chardenoux and adjacent pastry shop are just steps away.
