Julie Payette welcomed 1,800 guests to Ottawa’s National Arts Centre for the Governor General’s Performing Arts Awards. Among those honoured with a Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award were actress Geneviève Bujold, pianist Angela Hewitt and singer-songwriter Murray McLauchlan, while the 2018 National Arts Centre Award went to Calgary-born twin-sister pop duo Tegan and Sara.
