Jane Campion was born in New Zealand, but started film school in Australia in the 1980s. She has written all her films – including The Piano and her latest, Bright Star, about the poet John Keats – in her office in the Darlinghurst neighbourhood of Sydney. “Liverpool Street goes on for miles and miles, right through the heart of the city,” she says. “It has lots of fairy-tale bumpy up and down.”
