1 The Atlantis Marina & Yacht Club
I’m a big fisherman and love to be on boats. Here you get to see some of the world’s megayachts as they dock and disembark their passengers for an evening at the casino or a day at the water park. It feels like the Caribbean version of Monte Carlo.

2 Café Martinique
This restaurant, which I reopened a few years ago, was first made famous with an appearance in the 1965 James Bond classic Thunderball. The wrought-iron birdcage elevator and mahogany staircase are still there, and I kept the menu classic French, like the duck with honey wine jus.

3 Bahamian Junkanoo
Every Wednesday and Saturday around sunset, you can watch a traditional Junkanoo, where performers dance in costumes and play cowbells, goatskin drums and conch shell horns as they meander through Marina Village. Everyone can join in. My children love it.
Starts at the Village Creamery, near the entrance of Marina Village.
4 Bimini Road
At this restaurant, I always order the ceviche, made with raw Bahamian conch, citrus, garlic, onion, peppers and cilantro, and I add habanero for a little spice. You can catch live music on the outdoor deck too.

5 Doongalik Studios Art Gallery
This small space features work by over 70 local artists and was designed by architect and artist Jackson Burnside, who opened the original studio [at nearby #18 Village Road] in the 1970s. Here you can find everything from paintings and photography to handmade paper art and sculpture.

Strasbourg-born chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten trained in France, but a trip to Asia – with its zesty street food stalls – introduced him to Eastern flavours, which have since become his trademark at hot spots like Spice Market in New York. When not visiting one of his 31 properties, Vongerichten retreats to Nassau, where he recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of his restaurant Dune at the One&Only Ocean Club on Paradise Island.
