In regards to Canada's Best New Restaurants 2012, I couldn't help but notice your choices were only in 3 cities, majority being Toronto. I am from Regina, Sk and think we have some fabulous restaurants and chefs. Just curious, how many Saskatchewan restaurants did you attend? Seems crazy to think that out of all the great cities and restaurants our country has to offer, the top 10 restaurants were only in 3 cities. Would love to know where you ate, maybe you're missing out on some of the greats!

Hi Jamie,
Our panelists actually come from all over Canada. They each give us their recommendations and we whittle it down from there.

You can find more information on our panelists here: http://enroute.aircanada.com/en/articles/Panelists-2012/

And for more on our methodology, you can check out this article on How we Choose: http://enroute.aircanada.com/en/articles/how-we-choose-canada-s-best-new-restaurants-2

Chef Emma Cardarelli, if your food is as delicious as you are beautiful, I'm in!

@ Jasmin -Online Editor- so how about you change the article to Ontario's Top 10 Best Restaurants 'cause that's all I really see here. Vancouver has a lot to offer and so does St. John's. This is a terrible selection and an offensive one too.

Hi Joey,

Thanks for your feedback. We agree, Vancouver has some great restaurants as does St. John's. For instance, last year our #1 Best New Restaurant was Raymond's in St. John's and our #2 was Hawksworth in Vancouver. But there were only 2 in Toronto. In 2010, we really loved Hasai in Singhampton, Ontario. Every year we go looking for the best new openings. Sometimes these are in big cities and like this year, in Toronto, other times they are in smaller towns from coast-to-coast.
