Our Guide in Saint-Tropez

Canadian Sebastien Centner, CEO of Eatertainment, shares his favourite spots.

Sebastien Centner

Travelling to the French Riviera each year since his childhood, Sebastien Centner continues to be inspired by les Tropéziens. The Torontonian now caters and hosts events for clients like Brad Pitt, Bill Clinton and Martha Stewart, having picked up a thing or two about good taste over the years. "Saint-Tropez is a small village and the biggest cosmopolitan city all wrapped into one."

Nioulargo

Most people in Saint-Tropez end up at the private beach clubs, which are not members only; anyone can rent a beach mattress for the day. Each club has its own personality: Nikki Beach is known as the party beach, Club 55 is where you'll spot Karl Lagerfeld. But my favourite is Nioulargo, in Ramatuelle. It's got a friendly vibe and two great restaurants: Nioulargo, a Mediterranean seafood restaurant, and Kaï Largo, an Asian restaurant.

Vilebrequin

The famous menswear swimsuit company originated in Saint-Tropez and is sold in every major department store worldwide. But one of the few places to find the bikinis is at 1 Place de la Garonne – one of four stores in Saint-Tropez. The swimsuits make a great gift because you're probably not going to see them anywhere else.

Bar du Port

This is the place to be late at night if you want to lounge but don't want to be in a club. It invented the Ice Tropez: a pink, bubbly rosé, Saint-Tropez's answer to a wine cooler. Another little-known fact is that it serves the best eggs Benedict in town.

Chez Camille

About 20 minutes outside of town is a southern French restaurant known for its bouillabaisse. Make sure to call two to four weeks in advance, and don't even think about showing up with fewer or more people than you had reserved for or you're going to hear from the manager!
