Quick trip to Vail, Colorado

Five ways to experience this Colorado ski-resort town – without the snow.

1. Sage Outdoor Adventures

Drag your rubber raft to the Lower Eagle River for a challenging two-hour paddle, led by the knowledgeable guides of this family-run business. Co-owner Darryl Bangert and his crew provide all the equipment, including wetsuits, splash jackets and helmets. When you’re not navigating the Class IV rapids, look out for the cross-sections of rugged sandstone and red rock (also seen at the Grand Canyon) and the multimillion-dollar homes that run along the banks of the tributary. For younger adventure-seekers, Sage also offers gentler Class I and II trips on the Upper Colorado River for kids two years old and up.
