Review: Fishers’ Loft

Check in to one of our favourite hotels in Port Rexton, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Fishers’ Loft

Fishers’ Loft

Port Rexton, Newfoundland and Labrador
Made up of six houses recalling the area’s traditional late-19th-century architecture (one has a mansard roof, three are saltbox houses, all have painted wood siding), this inn perches on a verdant hillside overlooking Trinity Bay.

What we loved Relaxing on a bench among the wildflowers, radishes and sorrel in the organic garden, which, along with the greenhouse, supplies produce for the property’s kitchen.

If you only have one night Go for an early-morning run along the cliff-hugging Skerwink Trail before your breakfast of local-raspberry French toast in the dining room, with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Bonus You’re a 15-minute drive from Trinity, home to the Rising Tide Theatre, and departure point for sea-kayaking and whale-watching tours.
