In the two years since we launched our inaugural hotel design awards, the nation’s architects and interior designers have been hard at work, dreaming up homes away from home for relaxing, working and, well, dreaming. Our star-studded panel of experts sifted through Canadian-designed properties from Charlevoix to Chicago, Dushanbe, Tajikistan to Kahuku, Hawaii, looking for projects that raised the roof. The judges – leading restaurant and hotel designer Adam D. Tihany, Canadian novelist and visual artist Douglas Coupland, French “It” industrial designer Matali Crasset and Apartment Therapy’s Maxwell Ryan – have chosen winners in 11 categories. Here are the keys to your next memorable stays.
