BEST PLACES TO PLAY OUTSIDE IN EDMONTON

Jägare Ridge Golf Club
“Fantastic staff and a setting befitting of a private club. Its proximity to the airport makes it a handy choice, and it’s always in fantastic shape. The only downside is a couple of gimmicky holes, but it’s a very stern test of golf.”

Louise McKinney Riverfront Park
“Louise McKinney Park is located at the centre of the city, just below the Shaw Convention Centre. It’s full of paths, stairs, picnic areas, etc., and is a central part of my running routine. It’s amazing how the city can disappear here.”

BEST PLACES TO EAT IN EDMONTON

Wildflower

Wildflower
“I have loved this place since the day it opened. The menu rotates, and one can always find an assortment of Albertan delights. The bison is always good, and I love it when venison is featured as a main dish. Waiters are usually extremely good and take the time to explain everything on your plate.”

Dadeo
“This subtly lit diner on Whyte Avenue can sometimes have a wait, but it’s worth it! My advice: Always order the sweet-potato fries. They come lightly breaded and fried in delicious magic. The coleslaw is pretty mighty to boot.”

BEST PLACES TO DRINK IN EDMONTON

Credo Coffee

Credo Coffee
“I’ve been a fan of this place since they opened. The Intelligentsia coffee is amazing, and the prices are fair as opposed to many other places. Seating is relatively limited and often occupied by downtown movers and shakers.”

 Belgian Beer Café
“Sample some of the 55 different types of beer on offer at the Belgian Beer Café. The 10 beers featured on tap are served in authentic glassware shipped from Belgium. The food is just as delicious as the beer.”

BEST PLACES FOR MUSIC IN EDMONTON

Freecloud Records

Freecloud Records
“A punk haven, this store is owned by one of the members of Edmonton’s own Mad Bomber Society ska band. Boasting an impressive selection of vinyl, this place is a gem.”

Winspear Centre
“The design of the building, which was built for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, allows for optimal sound in every seat. It’s also used for other events such as organ, jazz and pop concerts. A world-class venue with wonderful acoustics. I highly recommend taking in a performance when visiting Edmonton.”
