Abacus

One of the area’s most famous chefs, Kent Rathbun, has several hot spots in town (Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen, Shinsei, Jasper’s), but this Asian-fusion joint is the hottest. Rathbun always reinvents the wheel; take his “bacon and eggs,” for instance, which consisted of Niman Ranch chipotle bacon, scrambled duck eggs and black truffle. Whatever’s on the menu when you visit, it’ll be a trip. This is a great people-watching bar, too.
