The French chain bakeries dotting Montreal are staples, but the real gems are small and independent. Located just off Saint-Laurent Boulevard, this organic bakery is run by Guillaume, his wife Valériane, and just a few employees. They bake a range of traditional French breads with an emphasis on sourdough and their chocolatines and brioches are especially buttery and delightful. The sandwich menu and seating area are small, but it’s well worth the trek even if you’re not staying nearby.
