National Gallery of Canada

As the Canadian capital’s premier art space, the gallery boasts a diverse collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photographs from an impressive list of Canadian and international artists. The works are housed in a glass building designed by acclaimed architect Moshe Safdie, with a striking view of the Parliament Buildings and the Ottawa River below. Exhibitions range in diversity and scope, from 19th-century British photography to pop culture, and the gallery has one of the largest permanent collections of homegrown art in the country.
