Mike Jeffs, executive chef and co-owner of Nook (as well as neighbouring small-plate haven Tapastree), has beefed up Denman Street’s offerings with reasonably priced pasta (go for the orecchiette with Italian sausage, fennel, rapini and chilies) and blistery, charred-crust pizza, plus a handful of crostini, antipasto and salad options, daily specials on a chalkboard, a tightly executed wine list offering incredible value and Italian beers by the bottle.
