enRoute Why does Aeroplan work for you?

Bertaut Tchuise Aeroplan is fantastic for me because I have family and friends around the world, including Canada and Cameroon, where I was born and raised. Almost every trip that I’ve ever taken has made use of the Aeroplan program.

ER How do you earn most of your Aeroplan points?

BT Mostly by credit card. It’s a funny coincidence: Just this morning I was opening my mail and there was an invite for the Chase Aeroplan Card, which I’ll probably get. I use credit cards to earn a lot of points, which I then transfer to Aeroplan. We also make use of Aeroplan Family Sharing, which I think is phenomenal and very generous.

ER What was your best Aeroplan redemption?

BT Two or three years back, our family of four was able to travel from the Maldives back to the U.S. via Europe, through various airline partners, like United, all in business class, and all booked through Aeroplan. We saved thousands of dollars in the process.

ER Window or aisle seat?

BT Window. When I was a kid, my father was always taking us to the airport in Cameroon to watch airplanes take off and land, so my fascination with aviation started at an early age. Even today, whenever traveling by plane, I always look out the window, my head in the clouds.

ER First travel memory?

BT I moved from Cameroon to Bloomington, Indiana, to attend school when I was 17. It was my first time leaving my parents, so it was a big change. It was also my first time seeing snow!
