Stethoscope Since I started medical school, I try to have this close by at all times – it gives me some street cred, showing that I officially belong in a hospital.

Compression socks I wear these knee–highs on long–haul flights; they help with recovery and save me a day of jet lag when combined with my neck pillow and earplugs. I’ve been wearing them for 20 years.

The Leafs' January and February schedule

Leafs schedule Every player and staff member has this calendar with practice and game times. I keep a printed copy on hand to help me plan around my school schedule.

Hayley Wickenheiser's medical pocket textbooks

Athletic balm Rock On Clay is a company that my friend Dr. Syl Corbett started. I use this balm, made with clay from the B.C. coast, on everything; I even put it under my nose for the peppermint smell.

Pocket textbooks I haven’t purchased that many books for school – everything is online now – but these pocketbooks are good for quick reference. I always have a few with me in case I need to look something up.
