ER Where will your travels take you next?

JD I’m currently planning a month–long trip with a group of friends that will take us through different parts of Japan, including Okinawa, and we’ll finish off in Taiwan. I’ve never been to Taiwan, but one of my good friends is Taiwanese and she’s going to take us on a food tour of the area her grandmother grew up in, which is well–known for traditional dishes.

ER Do you have a dream destination?

JD I’d really like to visit South America. We had planned a trip in 2020, but of course, the pandemic happened, and we had to cancel. There’s so much to explore there, from Patagonia to checking out the different cities and amazing food in Chile and Argentina.

ER What is your secret travel talent?

JD I like to travel pretty minimally with just what I need. I figure if something is missing, I can always pick it up along the way. I find it’s also a good way to remind myself of how I can live without all of the luxuries that I have at home. There will always be something I wish I brought, but it can lead to situations where I have to be creative. Like, if I forget a hat, maybe I’ll use my scarf as a cover instead.

JD The opportunity to be able to utilize my points for travel is great. If I’m using my credit card for other purchases anyway, it’s nice to have that go toward something that can benefit me and allows me to travel and consider more options while travelling.
