  1. Little Brick Café & General Store, Edmonton —

Located in Edmonton’s Riverdale neighbourhood, this quaint coffee shop offers much more than just espresso – soup, salad and sandwiches reign supreme here. Head to the back patio, decked with rustic picnic tables and lined with trees, flowers and fresh herbs.

  2. Café Pamenar, Toronto —

Café Pamenar is conveniently located outside of the always stylish Kensington Market. A local favourite since its opening in 2011, Pamenar serves the usual coffee-shop fare along with cocktails and bites, including tartare and small sandwiches. Take your coffee to go on the vine-covered patio for some of the best people-watching.

  1. Club Social P.S., Montreal —

Around back from Elena restaurant, this hidden Saint-Henri oasis with a lush herb, fruit and vegetable garden does three things really well: coffee, pizza and wine. Order inside and enjoy a slice of al taglio pizza with a cup of De Mello Palheta coffee (or a glass of natural wine) on the light-flooded, concrete and natural-wood sunken terrasse.

  2. Nº 9 Coffee Bar, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia —

Fresh-baked cakes and viennoiseries, friendly staff and a decidedly cozy patio tucked into a humble backyard garden: There’s a lot to love about Nº 9 Coffee Bar. Located in the heart of Old Town Lunenburg, it’s an exceptional escape from the bustle of the popular UNESCO World Heritage Site.
