Hours worked per day, hours flown per month, time zones traversed and the location of pilot domiciles are a few of the factors that are taken into consideration to ensure sufficient rest for the crew. Staying fit helps me stay on track, so I always pack gym gear in my overnight bag. Since diet plays a major role in overcoming jet lag, many pilots bring their own food. I find that going for a walk is often all it takes to help clear the cobwebs after a long flight.
